Bill warranty companies from the job, without splitting it by hand.
Keep a list of the warranty companies you work with, with their invoice email, payment terms and what they call their claim reference. Bill a job to warranty, choose who pays for each work item, take the customer's excess, and AutoChain raises a warranty invoice and a customer invoice from the one job.
Warranty work pays the bills in plenty of garages, but billing it is fiddly. Part of the job goes to the warranty company, part to the customer, there is an excess to collect and the claim needs its reference on the invoice. AutoChain handles that from the job. Choose the warranty company, enter the claim reference and the customer's excess, and set who pays for each work item. If the company wants to approve a pro-forma first, send it, record the amount they approve and, if it is less than their share, move the shortfall to the customer. When you issue, AutoChain raises the warranty invoice and the customer invoice for their share.

Get started freeOne job, two invoices
In the warranty drawer on the job, each work item is set to Customer or Warranty. AutoChain totals the excess, anything not covered, the warranty company's share and the customer's share, so you can see the split before anything is sent.
Some warranty companies want to approve a pro-forma before they accept an invoice; others are happy to be invoiced straight away. You choose which for each company. For pro-forma companies, preview the pro-forma, send it for approval and mark it approved with the amount they agreed. If that is lower than their share, AutoChain can move the difference to the customer.
For insurance-backed warranties, the invoice is made out to the vehicle owner with the company shown as the payer. Print draft shows the warranty invoice and the customer's invoice on separate sheets, as they will be issued.
